| Objectives
The goals and objectives of the Leadership and Management Development
Council of B.C. are as follows:
- To develop awareness and appreciation in the small and medium-sized
business sector for the value of and need for upgrading leadership
and management knowledge, methods, skills and techniques,
- To identify what constitutes "best practices" of leadership
and management performance,
- To benchmark British Columbia's leadership and management education
training and skills performance levels against best practices in other
jurisdictions with which the province's businesses compete,
- To develop action plans to close the gaps between the province's
current leadership and management practices and the best practices
of competing jurisdictions,
- To designate or recommend a series of courses, seminars and programs
leading candidates to either credits for a degree or a leadership
and/or management diploma or certificate which could be formally recognized
by the Council, and,
- To encourage and promote greater cooperation and collaboration between
all stakeholder groups in B.C. involved in leadership and management
development.
