| One of the objectives of the Leadership
and Management Development Council is to serve as a catalyst in developing
projects that will enhance the leadership and management capabilities
of British Columbia’s small and medium sized businesses.
Over the years, we have worked with private and public sector organizations,
including the governments of British Columbia and Canada, on a variety
of initiatives, including:
- Research into the challenges and issues facing business owners
in developing the management skills they need to become more competitive
- Identification of best practices and innovative approaches to skill
development
- Coordination of the establishment of eBusiness
Connection, making it easier for businesses to take advantage
of e-business opportunities
- Development of a provincial Youth Entrepreneurship
Strategy for the design and delivery of entrepreneurial programs
and services for young entrepreneurships
- Development of the Small
Business Check-up, an online tool to help B.C. business owners
and managers measure their abilities and see how they stack up compared
with companies recognized to be the best in their class
